Beautiful & practical Upholstered Storage beds

We sell two kind of Upholstered Storage beds.

Upholstered Ottomans have a large, undivided storage compartment in the base. This is accessed by raising the mattress platform from the foot end of the bed, with the mattress still in place. Gas filled support struts make this very easy to do. You really don’t need any special strength!

Upholstered Divans are slightly different. Except on single width models, where the base is one ‘box’, the base is made up of two ‘boxes’ running head to toe, locked together side by side and then upholstered. The mattress platform sits over the top of these. The bed can be supplied with no accessible storage in the base; or with 2 or 4 storage drawers built in. 4 drawer models can be supplied with either normal drawers, 2 of which run the full length of the bed; or with Continental drawers, which allow for a bedside chest to be placed alongside the head of the bed without obstructing the drawers. (Single models can have no storage or 2 drawers or 2 Continental drawers, both in either the left or right side of the bed.

Finally, Divans of all sizes can be made with the base ‘boxes’ accessible as an Ottoman – which means that, similar to our Upholstered Ottomans, the storage space in the base is accessed by raising the mattress platform from the foot end of the bed, with the mattress still in place. Gas filled support struts make this very easy to do. (Please note that on all Divan sizes wider than Single, the storage compartment on an Ottoman is divided in two, head to toe, with a central dividing wall, because of the twin-box Divan structure.)
