Description
The Kensington Bed is a great looking bed with a very architectural style from the evenly spaced verticals making up its head end. Because of this feature in its design, the Kensington takes on a rather splendid and traditional look when finished in any of our reddish tone finishes (light mahogany or dark mahogany lacquer, for example). But if you order the Kensington in any of the painted finishes, including white and black, it works beautifully in very contemporary rooms.
Specifying your bed
Use the finish selector to help you decide which finish would look best in your space. Then pick the size you want and tell us how many you’d like. (Well, sometimes people want more than one!) Once you’ve done that, carry on and add a mattress… and maybe some of our big, strong, wheeled underbed storage drawers. Bed Measurements
Bed sizes are always described using the size of the mattress the bed takes, so the dimensions you’ll see on our Bed Size menu are actually the length and width of the mattress. If you need the external dimensions of the wooden frame for this bed, add 4.75in (12cm) to the length and width.
Lead time
Your Taurus wooden bed will be handbuilt for you in our factory to your exact choice of style, size and finish, as well as any bespoke adjustments you might ask for. Naturally, to build a beautiful, quality bed for you takes a few days. We aim to deliver beds in 4-6 weeks from receiving your order. We’ll agree your actual delivery date with you when we telephone you to confirm the order. If it’s important to you to have your bed sooner than 4-6 weeks, please tell us and we’ll see what we can do to help.

"Our Kensington Bed is the first 'serious' bed we've owned, as opposed to a cheap and cheerful effort from IKEA. It was four years after we moved in before we got round to doing our bedroom and I was determined to have a bed that I really loved. We picked the Kensington and ordered it in the Teak Lacquer finish to fit in with the earthy, mossy grey we'd chosen for our carpet.
It looks absolutely fantastic, and I love the verticals of the headboard. I think Tim likes the touch of masculinity they add so that it doesn't look overtly girly and definitely not too macho.
