Kyoto Bed with Headboard
Description
The Kyoto Bed with Headboard is one of our range of four Kyoto models, designed to help with space saving. This model is identical to our Kyoto Bed, but with the addition of a headboard, fixed in place by two support struts fitted to the back of the bed. The width and length of the bed itself are exactly the same as that of the mattress they are carrying, with quadrant corner posts that follow the corner profile of the mattress. However, the thickness of the support struts for the headboard adds around 1″ (25mm) to the overall length. (On our non-Kyoto beds, the frame tends to add about 4.75 in (12cm) to the dimensions of the mattress.) The mattress elevation of the Kyoto Bed with Headboard is at normal bed height. If you add Underbed Drawers to this bed when you build your order, you will be offered the special Kyoto versions of these, which are a little shorter than the versions designed to fit beneath the rest of our range.

Bed sizes are always described using the size of the mattress the bed takes, so the dimensions you’ll see on our Bed Size menu are actually the length and width of the mattress. Because of its unique space-saving design, you can consider the width of the Kyoto Bed with Headboard as being exactly the same as that of the mattress. You should add 1 inch (25mm) to the mattress length to allow for the thickness of the wooden support struts which fix the headboard in position.
